To hell and back

Recently I have finished watching HBO series «The Pacific» and was quite impressed by the history and I felt the need to paint something related to the events of the show.

In this portrait I tried to capture the extreme harshness and terrible conditions in which USMC marines had to fight. I´ve used much more texture than some of my other portraits and I´m quite happy with the result.
